Description

A new role has arisen within an Indirect Tax Team of a global retail business.  This is an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Tax specialist to make a substantial impact on the business and oversee all UK Indirect Tax matters; this will include getting involved in SAP S/4 implementation project and using a tax tool for compliance reporting purposes. Building relationships with colleagues across the business including units throughout the UK, you can identify potential savings, manage processes and work with colleagues in understanding their role in ensuring that all the tax affairs are in order.

The role is based in the London office 3 days per week (2 from home), and there will be travel out to business units across the UK, Ireland and Netherlands.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing business advisory service on all indirect tax matters across the UK business.
  • Managing / taking ownership of the VAT compliance processes and of tax returns reporting, ensuring remains timely and accurate and any issues are resolved / communicated.
  • Managing the UK Indirect Tax Assistant, setting objectives and managing deliverables.
  • Documenting and maintaining Tax Risk Register for SAO compliance.
  • Working with Group Head of Indirect Tax and key stakeholders to implement longer term processes as part of the indirect tax strategy impacting how the UK business manages its indirect tax affairs.
  • Provide training and raise awareness of indirect tax matters.
  • Manage / mitigate risks and identify / optimise opportunities and tax savings.
  • Keeping abreast of legislative and case law changes, analysing and advising, as well as implementing changes

To be successful in this role you will need to have UK VAT experience gained in an industry role.  Line management experience and experience of SAP will be an advantage.  Please get in contact for further details.

Market rate for this kind of position is typically £70,000 to £85,000, depending on experience. Please note that specific salary bandings for roles with individual clients may vary from these guidelines.
